Psychodermatology National MDT

Psychodermatology presentations are frequently multifactorial and can be among the most challenging cases seen in clinical practice. They often involve complex symptom burden, significant psychosocial distress, and barriers to accessing joined-up care. Given the nationwide lack of dedicated psychodermatology resources and specialist services, clinicians may be left managing these cases with limited formal support.

To help bridge this gap, we have organised a monthly Psychodermatology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting. The MDT is designed as a supportive forum for clinicians to present cases, discuss diagnostic complexity, and receive practical guidance from an expert panel. Discussions aim to strengthen clinical decision-making and provide realistic management options, including stepwise treatment planning, communication strategies, and signposting to appropriate local and national resources where available.

We welcome submissions from clinicians managing skin–mind interface presentations across dermatology, primary care, psychiatry, psychology, and allied specialties. If you would like to discuss a case at a future meeting, please contact Dr Alia Ahmed by clicking this link.
